The standard was extremely impressive, proving that there’s plenty of talent here in Newcastle! The judges whittled the hopefuls down to 4 finalists and I’m glad I didn’t have to decide – an impossible task. The winner was Stockton-based Val Boyers and we are looking forward to seeing her alongside Jason and The Dave Connolly Big Band on March 24th at Newcastle City Hall.
