Just time for a quickie this week while Jason is out playing his first cricket match of the season. The previous 11 fixtures were all cancelled due to rain! They did win the very first game so are sitting at the top of the league by default, lets hope they get a good result tonight!

I made the most of a brief 30 minutes of sunshine on Monday night – blitzed the knee-high lawn and painted the fence. Was just about to start on the shed when Daisy reminded me we needed to get her passport photo. I did not fancy that airport scenario again, ‘Mammy, are we not going on holiday?’. 4:30am and Jason is on his way to departures (he had to go as he was gigging that night) and me and the kids are heading back to the taxi rank!

Jason’s had quite an eventful working week, firstly a Jewish wedding and the first time I’ve heard him sing Hava Naguila – he had to do it twice it was so good! Got everyone on their feet – the bride and groom carried through on chairs, rather precariously I thought looking at all the empty wine bottles…

The next gig was a bonafide gypsy wedding! They certainly know how to have fun, dancing through Jason’s entire set. Over the reception meal! They kept him there for an extra 45 minutes, he was completely exhausted by the time he escaped.

Got to dash but just before I go some new dates for your diaries – June 13th at Louis, Jesmond, June 24th (Midsummer) at The Caledonian, Jesmond and July 8th at Adrianos in Gosforth, all £35pp with a 3-course meal.

(Footnote: I wrote this all out last night then forgot to press Publish, doh! Still learning… Jason won his cricket match though so they are still champions – for the time being)

Jason is helping to raise awareness and funds for the Newcastle United Women’s Football Team (aka The Angels). Although affiliated with NUFC, the ladies team are actually a registered charity with a constant need to raise funds to support themselves. Having said that, they have enjoyed cup & league success and are among the top echelon of women’s football in the UK.

If they can raise enough funds to build their own stadium they will be able to compete in the super league alongside Arsenal and Birmingham.

Help us to help our fantastic local athletes and let’s have a night to remember.

Tickets are just £25pp and the night will include a meal, fashion show and charity auction, not to mention surprise celebrity guests.

To book tickets call the Jason Isaacs office on 0191 214 2627 or Sharon 07745 046 805 or Debbie 07999 806 754.

Dress code is fabulous!

Here I am – Wednesday again already! I have to say it’s been a fun-packed week with several ‘firsts’ for me. Oh and a few chuckles – I inadvertently locked Jason in the house one afternoon, with some weird and wonderful consequences… But back to the here and now first.

There were quite a few meetings this week, Jason must think I spend my whole time swanning about (!), but all have been really productive. We had a very exciting discussion with a guy called Paul, who used to be a sports editor on our local newspaper and has recently launched a new bespoke cruise company. He has hooked up with Royal Caribbean to set up exclusive celebrity cruises and Jason is his first project. There are 2 options – flying into Rome and taking in Turkey and the Greek Islands or flying into Venice and travelling to Greece via Split in Croatia, which is meant to be fabulous. Both sound heavenly to me so I don’t really mind which he goes for! It will be a 7 night trip culminating in Jason singing under the stars. We are looking at May 2013 so keep it free.

I also attended my first ever boxing night. Jason is a huge boxing fan so jumped at the chance to compere a friends ‘Beginner to Boxer’ night held recently at The Gosforth Marriott. With a professional boxing ring, a full-on lighting rig and a room full of excited friends and family, the atmosphere was electric. And very tense. It’s a brave thing to get into a ring after only 6 months of training so hats off. I was only there to take some photos but the two fights I did see were closely fought and there were some proper punches being thrown! Well done Andy and his team and all the boxers. I did see one of the guys in the gym this morning and he said never again….

Friday night I was Jason’s sound engineer at our first gig in the swanky new No. 19 Clubhouse at Close House Hotel. They loved him! I didn’t get to try the food but it looked delicious and the staff couldn’t have been more friendly and welcoming. I get the feeling they all love where they work and that always makes for happy customers. We’ll be returning later in the year so keep an eye on the diary.

I also had my first experience of a ladies football match. Well, that’s not strictly true as I went to university in Loughborough and some of my friends at the time were on the England squad, but that’s so long ago last night’s visit to the NUWFC must count as a first! They recently approached us to ask if Jason would help raise awareness of Women’s football in the region. Both Sunderland and Newcastle have really successful teams but struggle with financing. Sunderland ladies team recently won the league and Newcastle have enjoyed cup success, but need to secure funding to have any chance of entering the super league alongside the likes of Arsenal and Birmingham. I’m not sure how much we can do to help but it was great to meet them; all dedicated athletes and maybe not quite what you would imagine. They are from all walks of life with jobs ranging from solicitors to glamour models and one of the girls is an ex-Lebanese national player. Quite an education. We are hoping to organise a ball this summer before the new season starts at the end of August.

So, as you can see, it’s never a dull moment here at Jason Isaacs HQ.

More news next week but for now swing fans it’s adios!

Hello everyone and welcome to my online diary, it’s a bit scary I have to say!

Sorry this is a bit late, it’s been one of those days after a late night… We were out with an old friend of Jason’s who we met after 20 years when he came to see Jason at The City Hall. I always love to see the reaction of people when they see Jason for the first time, it’s hard to put the two together – Jason on stage and Jason the schoolboy, he’s certainly come a long way… They grew up on the same estate in Killingworth and by the sounds of it spent every waking hour together between the ages of 10 and 13 playing football and cricket and doing all sorts of ‘boy’ stuff. It all stopped of course when he met me! We met on the first day of high school, it was love at first sight, well for me anyway.

But that’s another story…

Back to 2012!

This week I have mostly been asking Jason to do two of his most hated things – watching and listening to himself! We got the first edit of the City Hall video footage and it looks amazing! Phil at Tyne Media has done a fantastic job. He hopes to get it aired on TV at some point, apparently Internet TV is the next big thing so watch this space.

We also got the vocal edit of his new single, soooo exciting. It’s being mixed as we speak by our genius record producer Jon Rydningen in Oslo and I can’t wait to hear the final mix. Fingers crossed the guys at Radio 2 like it as much as we do.

So if all goes to plan there are exciting times ahead. I do love my job.

Got to go, dinner to make and a kitchen to tidy, but tune in next week to see how things are progressing.

See you then!

Sharon (aka Mrs Jason Isaacs) xxx
